Lang & Heyne

A Debut with Verve

The exclusive Dresden-based watch manufacturer Lang & Heyne presents “Hektor,” its latest model, at THE SHOW

This stainless steel watch with integrated metal bracelet is visually impressive thanks to harmoniously coordinated details, e.g., various decorative patterns on the dial, bold noctilucent hands and indexes, a razor-sharp minute scale along the flange and a cushion-shaped crown protector. But the undisputed center of attention on the dial is an aperture in an unusual “petticoat” shape, which invites connoisseurs to gaze deep into the exquisite manufacture caliber, which boasts many features of Saxon fine watchmaking.

Caliber 33.2, which is used for the first time in the “Hektor,” has an impressively open architecture, which is made possible by cocks that continue the distinctive “petticoat” look. The “flying” (i.e., cantilevered) barrel allows an especially low construction height for the movement, which is equipped with an eccentric balance developed in-house at Lang & Heyne. All plates and gears are made of Arcap, an innovative amagnetic material. The 40-mm-diameter “Hektor” is limited to 99 watches: 33 each with a green, gray or blue dial.
