Sinn Spezialuhren celebrates its 60th birthday at THE SHOW

Sinn Spezialuhren focuses on practicality. This brand believes that watches should be robust, precise and equipped with sensible and useful functions. This philosophy guides the decisions of owner Lothar Schmidt, who is also an academically trained engineer, as he leads the brand in its 60th anniversary year, which the label is now celebrating with numerous new products that will be presented at THE SHOW.

Among them is the impressive automatic chronograph “717,” which is described as an “on-board chronograph for the wrist” and harks back to the company’s origins. Sinn first became well known in the early 1960s thanks to its on-board clocks and its wristwatches for pilots.

To fete its anniversary, Sinn Spezialuhren is also launching a version of the “103” in a limited edition of 600 timepieces. The 41-mm “103 Classic 12” has a stainless steel case that remains water-resistant to 20 bar and is also vacuum-proof. The case is topped by an “impossible-to-lose” rotatable bezel” with a scratch-resistant ceramic insert – a first for the “103.”

The bezel can be used to display the time in a second time zone. Of course, the time can also be stopped: the wearer reads the corresponding elapsed hours and minutes on the beige totalizers. Self-winding Sellita Caliber SW 510 powers this watch. Two leather straps are delivered along with this special-edition wristwatch, which is equipped with Sinn Spezialuhren’s in-house Ar-dehumidifying technology to optimize functionality and prevent fogging on the underside of the crystal.
